Education
The educational system on the 78 Corridor boasts an increasingly impressive selection of institutions that are conducting valuable research, fostering a new generation of distinguished talent and contributing to San Diego’s overall regional competitiveness. The North County region offers a selection of differentiated educational systems. Any individual can find a quality educational environment that best suits their needs; whether it’s a major university like CSUSM, a smaller private campus or a community college like Palomar or Mira Costa Colleges.

Cal State San Marcos is praised for its commitment to research efforts, community outreach, collaborative curriculum and diversity of their student body. This speaks to CSUSM’s commitment to providing students with a quality education at a reasonable cost that doesn’t burden students with unmanageable debt.

Palomar and MiraCosta are two community colleges in North County San Diego that offer comprehensive two-year degrees for students that are interested in a variety of educational tracks. Both offer a transfer-readiness program in addition to curriculum more focused on general education, technical skills or cultural enrichment.

Industry highlights:

  • CSUSM ranked among the top colleges in the country for student employability upon graduation relative to the cost of education.
  • The 78 Corridor is celebrated for its public, private and charter K-12 options for children. Many of these schools - including High Tech High - operate under unique learning models that are designed to maximize student potential through critical thinking, creativity and a more personalized education.
