In addition to baccalaureate degrees, such as Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science, CSUSM offers 13 master's programs, eight credential programs and a joint doctoral program with UC San Diego. From biotechnology to nursing to business, our post baccalaureate degrees provide a superior academic and professional education.

Palomar College offers more than 300 Associates Degree and certificate programs, as well as not-for-credit community development and personal enrichment classes for life-long learning. We have transfer agreements with the California State University and University of California systems, and our high-level coursework in transferable classes fully prepares our students for success at four-year colleges and universities.

Active Duty Military & Veterans: 1,741

MiraCosta College offers associate degrees equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor's degree (2+2 program). With an associate degree, students can transfer to a 4-year university or begin work. MiraCosta also offers over 50 different certificates for students interested in short-term training in a specific career area. Certificates can be completed in one or two years.

CARLSBAD HIGHER EDUCATION INITIATIVE

In 2012, City Council set an ambitious strategic goal to bring a higher education institution to Carlsbad. After conducting research on models of higher education recruitment and benefits of higher education institutions to local communities, the city contracted K. Backus & Associates and Appleseed, Inc. to help conduct an in-depth analysis of regional academic offerings and develop a strategy for a successful recruitment process. In January 2014, City Council voted to encourage the use of City-owned property in the heart of the city's business hub for higher education purposes.
